Beverly Wertheimer’s Journey
Before becoming a certified life coach, a psychotherapist, and a professor of psychology, my career started behind the mic and in front of the camera. I was a broadcast journalist at local new stations including ABC and NBC affiliates in West Virginia, Florida, and New York. While in Florida, working as a news reporter, anchor, and bureau chief, I was honored to win an Associated Press Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Reporting. I later made my way back home to Los Angeles, California, where I was an entertainment reporter at Entertainment Tonight and later at CNN’s Turner Entertainment Report.
In my quest to be the best journalist possible, I discovered ways to stay grounded and navigate high-stress environments. I also learned to confidently approach anyone (including two United States Presidents and hundreds of movie stars!), reminding myself that I am a kind and respectful person, and that no one is fundamentally more worthy than anyone else. Each of us is flawed (and flawless) in our own way!
The photos below capture a glimpse of my time as a broadcast journalist. Reporting on news and entertainment was my first masterclass in human psychology. Now, I get to help you find your own narrative and steady your pace when life feels like it’s constantly "breaking news." 😊
